Symbiotic: Journal of Biological Education and Science Vol. 7 No. 1 April 2026 presents eight scholarly articles highlighting recent advances in biological sciences, biotechnology, agriculture, and biology education. The published studies examine DNA replication mechanisms in prokaryotes, botanical insecticides derived from jackfruit leaves and red galangal, antimalarial activity of red algae extracts, and the utilization of organic fertilizer produced from fruit peel waste to enhance plant growth. In the field of biology education, this issue features research on Kodular-based mobile learning, challenges in integrating Islamic values into biology instruction, the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning–Student Teams Achievement Division model in improving metacognitive skills, and the impact of socio-scientific issues learning integrated with spiritual values on students’ critical thinking abilities. Collectively, these studies contribute to scientific knowledge and innovative educational practices.
