Identifikasi Problematika Guru Biologi dalam Integrasi Islam pada Pembelajaran Biologi di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri se-Kota Padang Panjang

The integration of Islam and Biology learning in Islamic Senior High Schools (MAs) is a strategic step to foster a comprehensive understanding for students. However, there is a gap between the integrative curriculum policy and teachers' pedagogical abilities in contextualizing Quranic verses into science material. This study aims to identify the problems faced by biology teachers when integrating Islam into the implementation of biology learning in State Islamic Senior High Schools (MAN) throughout Padang Panjang City. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of three biology teachers at MAN 1, MAN 2, and MAN 3 Padang Panjang who were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation with data validity tested through triangulation of sources. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that teachers' problems are multidimensional. The biggest challenges faced by teachers include the difficulty of finding Quranic verses relevant to the material, the lack of professional teacher training, and limited facilities and infrastructure. As a result, integration is often limited to inserting verses without in-depth reinforcement. This study recommends the need for further research in the form of developing teaching materials to create valid Biology-Islam learning tools, as well as experimental research to test the effectiveness of Biology-Islam integration on scientific literacy and the religious character of students in general.
